Polystyrene particles (2 micron diameter) move toward a scratch on an indium tin oxide electrode. The scratch induces a non-uniform field and generates an electrohydrodynamic flow, which carries the particles toward the scratch. See Ristenpart et al., Langmuir 24, 12172-12180 (2008) for details.
